i love music especially when it comes to blues, jazz and this 30's and 40's song which you always hate because it's old, lousy and would be the perfect element because it makes you start yawning and sleepy. it's true and it's a fact. but that what makes it so special - maybe because i grew up listening to my dad's records.

you see, when my mom's pregnant with me, my dad used to turn on the stereo and play the old songs until midnight - which eventually make him sleep as well, haha ! anyway, as i grew up - dad likes to change the radio frequency in the car (his own car, of course) when we're happy with the current music (you know, britney spears era before rehab and party - baby one more time, christina aguilera before she became dirty and nasty - genie in the bottle, justin timberlake before he brought sexy back and still in boy band nsync - it's gonna be me) , he would change it to light.fm and sing along to the old songs. i hate him so much for that, which eventually the songs brainwashed me somehow and i ended up liking it just for temporary.

then, i grew up starting to like christina aguilera which is my greatest inspiration in my life - her voice especially. i've discover christina's blues and soul side when i watch her singing etta james 'at last' at the stripped europe tour in london alongside justin timberlake. her performance is just breath taking, it's fresh and unique. many people made comments about her version of 'at last' - it's too much, she should stick to the original .. i totally disagree, i mean it's christina. she has her own style and that makes her stand out - it's different than any singer and she pull off like a pro. then, i fell in love with her debut album 'back to basics' - her music is kinda like 30's and 40's era where there's blue, gospel with a hint of orchestra as a background music. there's too many favourite songs in the album i have to say - it's just that it's sooo gooddd !

however it depends on my mood as well. i couldn't hear these genre all over again or i'll get bored soon. sometimes, i like to indulge pop songs - hilary duff, vanessa hudgens, ashley tisdale and the list goes on. other times, i like to slow down a bit - maybe robin thicke, mariah carey etc. or maybe i want to listen to whitney houston, michael buble, celine dion, minnie riperton, etta james, toni braxton, oleta adams .. there's kinda a variety in my mp3 i have to say, haha! rock songs, it depends - i don't like it too rockish - like demi lovato, miley cyrus, paramore, jonas brothers .. always picky when it comes to rock. i don't like metal or techno songs except lady gaga's just dance.

currently, i'm downloading new songs from different artists. now, i starting to like gabriella cilmi - she's 17, from australia and she's like the younger clone of amy winehouse ! so incredible, i know. i love her singles - sweet about me and sanctuary. it's funky ! i've always love duffy, she's awesome, i just love her voice - she's like amy winehouse too except without rehab and drugs. i love stepping stone and rain on your parade. i do love amy winehouse too, got to admit that she's good too. rehab, love is a losing game and you know that i'm no good - these three songs, i can listen again and again.
