i feel so alien.

my father helped me to re-edited my scholarship essay - he commented that my former essay was too honest. but then, i should feel honest when i write, am i ?

these are the words that came out from his mouth :

'you're writing a scholarship. you need to ampu-lah !'

and i was like 'oohh, well whatever you say !'

so it looks like the final draft - well, feels soo different and wrongg ! my father's english level is so high - british style whereas me .. uhh, it likes i've been squashed down ! my english sucks.

he told me - his english is like crap. wth ? his english is more than crap - it's bloody perfect ! i wish i could write like this - the more alien it sounds, the better !

i bet robert would write a scholarship essay like this, probably better. mine is like kindergarten level - it sucks and i hate it !

after he re-edited it, he quoted : 'tu la .. baca twilight lagi.' hehe ..

so, i present to you guys - the final of all essays ! now, no more writing !

I DESERVED A SCHOLARSHIP UNDER 8TV SCHOLARSHIP FUND BECAUSE ...

Proper education has always been important for everyone – it is the ultimate ticket to get oneself into universities and colleges. Without a good foundation in education, it becomes very difficult to succeed in life. One of the socio-economic problems faced in developing countries such as Malaysia is the issue of poverty and it is an acceptable fact that to alleviate oneself from the world of poverty, it is crucial to have a good solid foundation in education. With better education, the level of poverty decreases and subsequently helps improve the standard of living in the country. Better education also directly leads to a more stable economy for the country thus the importance of securing tertiary education in the hope that it will make one independent and at the same time can help lesser fortunate people in the community. With that in mind, the 8tv scholarship fund is viewed as a door of opportunity to secure the vision of being an independent person.

Academically in the recent SPM, I have achieve 5A’s in the subject of English Language, Mathematic, History, Bahasa Melayu dan Arts. These represent key subjects in pursuing terteriary education and should make myself worthy of the 8TV scholarship fund. Subjects with ‘B’ to further support my seriousness and eagerness to study are Pendidikan Islam, Physics, Chemistry, Additional Mathematics and English in Science and Technology. It is hope that with this scholarship, I can pursue a career in business studies since I always had an interest in the mechanism and field of buiness in particularly where profit can be attained with minimal cost and at the same time how the generation of wealth can be optimized to address socio-ecnomic issues of the country.

With globalisations becoming a reality in more and more sector of the economy, I am further attracted to learn more about business-related studies that have a bearing on International Business, Investment Analysis and Business Administration/Management.

A deserving candidate for a scholarship should not only be a bookworm but a wholesome rounded person and also be involved in extra-curricular activities as it trains one to be able to work effectively within groups. This particularly important because most careers that succeed well do well in team building as two heads are better than one. To supplement my cause that I be awarded this scholarship I am pleased to inform that in secondary school, I was the Secretary and Vice President of The Choir Club in 2007 and 2008 respectively. I had participated in the Petaling Perdana District level choir competition and won the second placing. Other than that, I was a school prefect, a member of the Persatuan Pelajar Islam and a member of my sports team where my interest was in ping-pong. I did participated in my schools ‘Larian Fourian’ for three consecutive years. Futhermore, In group works, we were also involved in problem solving projects.

Lastly, I believe the fund will not go to waste if warded to me because when I make comparison with myself to my peers, I can humbly say that I am a determined, diligent and hard-working person when it concerns my studies. I feel I can also be of good service to 8tv if there are golden opportunities after I secure my academic qualificiation.
